We put up the Xmas decorations. Hey how did the X in Xmas come about anyway?

The abbreviation Xmas for Christmas dates from the mid 16th century. The X is the Greek letter chi, the initial in the word Χριστός (Christos) “Christ.” In spite of a long and respectable history, today Xmas is offensive to many, perhaps because of its associations with advertising. It is not used in formal writing.

Perhaps you want to take note of the note below. It was something we found in the Xmas box from the year previous. I guess there must have been some sort of "discussion" about how I was wrapping the lights up incorrectly. From the note I can see I wasnt too discombobulated because I signed it as Gary. And for the record, I did unwrap them this year and there was no aformentioned tangleage. The lights came apart with ease! I think its funny how Beth wrote the note to assure clearity and purpose, but she totally accepted the signature of Gary! Love ya Bethypoo.
